Emily Peckham
Mae fy nghefndir fel cemegydd ymchwil, ac mae gen i radd mewn Cemeg o Brifysgol Caerfaddon. Symudais i faes ymchwil gwasanaethau iechyd yn 2009 pan ddyfarnwyd ysgoloriaeth Ysgol Gofal Iechyd llawn amser tair blynedd i mi ym Mhrifysgol Leeds. Ers cwblhau fy PhD yn 2012 rwyf wedi canolbwyntio ar ymchwil iechyd meddwl.
Ar hyn o bryd, mae fy ymchwil yn canolbwyntio ar leihau anghydraddoldebau iechyd pobl sydd â salwch meddwl difrifol. Y nod yw hysbysu a dylanwadu ar ddarparwyr gwasanaethau, darparwyr gofal iechyd a llunwyr polisi i wneud newidiadau sy’n lleihau’r bwlch marwolaethau rhwng y boblogaeth gyffredinol a phobl sydd â salwch meddwl difrifol. Rwyf wedi cymryd rhan mewn amryw o astudiaethau sy’n ceisio lleihau ymddygiadau risg iechyg, gan gynnwys rhoi’r gorau i ysmygu, gweithgarwch corfforol a deiet. Rwyf hefyd wedi bod yn ymwneud â datblygu datganiad consensws ar yr hyn y dylai pobl sydd â salwch meddwl difrifol ei ddisgwyl o ran gofal deintyddol. Ar hyn o bryd, fi yw Pen-ymchwilydd yr astudiaeth SPACES sydd â’r nod o gyd-gynhyrchu a phrofi ymyriad i gynyddu gweithgarwch corfforol a lleihau ymddygiad eisteddog ymysg pobl sydd â salwch meddwl difrifol. Yn ystod pandemig Covid-19, fi oedd pen-ymchwilydd yr astudiaeth OWLS a sefydlwyd i archwilio effeithiau’r pandemig a chyfyngiadau’r pandemig ar bobl sydd â salwch meddwl difrifol. Yn ystod yr astudiaeth hon, fe wnaethom nodi bwlch sgiliau digidol ymysg pobl sydd â salwch meddwl o gymharu ag unigolion nad ydynt yn profi salwch meddwl, ac rwyf wedi bod yn archwilio ffyrdd o gynyddu sgiliau digidol ymysg pobl sydd â salwch meddwl.
