Mental Health Research Network Cymru
MHRN-C was an all Wales Network funded by the National Institute for Social Care and Health Research (NISCHR) for mental health research to: (i) improve the co-ordination of research in a Wales Assembly Government and NHS priority area; (ii) improve service user participation; (iii) maintain and enhance the quality of research; (iv) improve the integration of research and patient care; (v) provide high quality evidence-based information which increases access to the best treatment and care; and (vi) widen participation in research through links and networks with health and social care professionals covering urban and rural settings, and service users reflecting the diversity of the population.
The network was led from University of Wales Swansea on behalf of a Wales Collaboration for Mental Health. The network worked closely with partners and stakeholders to provide the infrastructure for clinical trials and other well designed studies that have implications for people, services and treatments. The network merged with the National Centre for Mental Health in 2015
