Jakub Matusiak

I have studied Microbiology at the University of Liverpool and completed MSc Biomedical Science. Following this, I have worked in a pathogen microbiology laboratory for two years. Research was always something I was interested to do, hence, I decided to join the BCUHB Maelor Academic Unit of Medical and Surgical Science (MAUMSS) as a part-time bank staff volunteer. I have been a Research Assistant for almost one year prior to joining as a full-time staff in December 2022. Currently, I am a Healthcare Scientist (Research) working for MAUMSS and Centre for Mental Health and Society.  My research is focused on adipose stem cell suitability for breast reconstruction after cancer surgery. Additionally, I am working on the HMP Berwyn Medical Student Placement Project with Dr Sadia Nafees.
