Rwy'n nyrs iechyd meddwl gofrestredig ac yn ymchwilio i’r gwasanaethau iechyd. Yn dilyn hyfforddiant fel nyrs glinigol, astudiais seicoleg at lefel PhD ac yna dilyn cwrs Meistr mewn Iechyd Cyhoeddus a Hybu Iechyd ym Mhrifysgol Bangor. Rwy'n ddarlithydd Iechyd Meddwl yn yr Ysgol Gwyddorau Gofal Iechyd, Prifysgol Bangor, ac mae gennyf swyddi ymchwil anrhydeddus yn yr Ysgol Meddygaeth ym Mhrifysgol Abertawe a chyda Bwrdd Iechyd Prifysgol Betsi Cadwaladr. Mae fy nyletswyddau'n cynnwys gweithio'n agos gyda dau rwydwaith ymchwil ledled Cymru; Rhwydwaith Ymchwil Iechyd Meddwl Cymru (MNRNC) a Rhwydwaith Ymchwil yng Nghymru ar Ddementia a Chlefydau Niwro-ddirywiol (NEURODEM Cymru). Mae gennyf ddiddordeb eang mewn ymchwil i iechyd meddwl ac rwy'n weithgar gyda nifer o brojectau ymchwil, yn aml fel prif ymchwilydd. Hyd yma mae fy ymchwil wedi canolbwyntio'n bennaf ar ddau brif thema; trin iselder ac iechyd corfforol pobl sy'n cymryd meddyginiaeth gwrthseicotig. Rwy'n brif ymchwilydd mewn treial triniaeth gwrthiselder mawr a gynhelir mewn nifer o ganolfannau, ac a ariennir gan Sefydliad Cenedlaethol dros Ymchwil Iechyd HTA. Rwy'n ymgynnull grŵp datblygu ymchwil Cymru gyfan (ATHRAM), a ariennir gan Rwydwaith Ymchwil Iechyd Meddwl Cymru, sydd â'r nod o gynhyrchu syniadau a chynigion ymchwil ar iechyd corfforol pobl sy'n cymryd meddyginiaeth gwrthseicotig. Rwy'n aelod gweithredol o amrywiaeth o bwyllgorau lleol a chenedlaethol, gan gynnwys pwyllgor Rhwydwaith Iechyd Meddwl mewn Gofal Sylfaenol yng Nghymru.
